Buildings and contents (including stocks) can be covered against loss or damage caused by:

• Fire, lightning & explosion
• Theft (involving forcible entry or exit)
• Aircraft & impact by road vehicles or animals
• Riot, strikers, locked out workers & persons taking part in labour disturbances
• Malicious damage
• Earthquake, storm & flood
• Burst pipes & other escape of water
• Certain other accidental loss or damage (including damage to glass)

We can also tailor make extensions of cover to suit your specific needs, for example:

• Accidental damage or theft of products in transit to customers and other sites in your own vehicles or whilst being carried by others on your behalf
• Deterioration of refrigerated stock following breakdown or damage to refrigeration equipment or sudden and unforeseen failure of the public electricity

Besides the cover mentioned under the Buildings and Contents, we can also provide cover for your business and office equipment and your machinery (including mobile equipment) against the following losses:

• Accidental damage including breakdown and losses due to lightning and electrical power fluctuations or surges
• Loss of computer data
• Additional expenditure (such as hiring of alternative equipment) following damage to the property insured
• Portable equipment (laptops etc) can be covered worldwide.

Cover can be provided ensuring that both the profit and income will continue to be paid although the business may be stopped or interrupted by any loss or damage covered by Atlas buildings and contents or equipment and machinery policies. The following losses would be insured under this policy:

• Inability to meet certain fixed charges such as salaries, rent and bank commitments
• Net profit if reduced or turned into a net loss
• Extra costs which may be incurred to get your business up and running as soon as possible.

We can insure the loss of your money following theft (including hold-up) and other losses from the time of receipt until deposit and even whilst in a bank night safe. This means that your money would be insured whilst:

• in your business premises
• in transit in your personal custody or that of your employees
• in your home or that of your authorised employees
• in bank night safe

Cover can also be provided for specified benefits should you or your employees sustain an injury as a result of theft or attempted theft involving assault or violence.

Employers’ Liability
We can cover your legal responsibility towards your employees for injury, illness or disease arising out of and in the course of their employment including payment for injury leave.

Personal Accident
Personal Accident insurance can provide benefits upon death, permanent/temporary total disablement and a limited amount of medical expenses. These may be fixed sums or may be expressed in relation to wages. Cover applies on 24-hour basis or may be restricted to occupational risks only in return for a reduction in premium.

Public and Products Liability
We can cover your legal liability to pay compensation for bodily injury, illness or disease to third parties, or loss or damage to their property caused by:

• The activities of your business both at the place of work and/or anywhere else in Malta and Gozo
• The products manufactured, sold or supplied, or services provided.

Cover would include legal and other costs related to the above, incurred with our consent.

We can provide cover for goods being imported or exported, whether by sea, air or registered parcel post. Cover can include loss or damage caused by:

• Fire, explosion or lightning
• Earthquake or volcanic eruption
• Vessel or craft being stranded, grounded, sunk or capsized
• Overturning or derailment of land conveyance
• Collision or contact of vessel craft or conveyance with any external object other than water
• Discharge of cargo at post of distress
• General average, sacrifice or jettison
• Entry of seawater, lake water or river water
• Washing overboard
• Loss of package overboard and/or package dropped during loading or discharge
• Other accidental damage unless specifically excluded.
